Music and foley are key elements when making our teaser trailer. Choosing the correct style of music is vital. If we make the wrong decision, it could have an adverse effect on our trailer. In order to establish the effect music has on a film, we used the example of the movie 'Rain Man'. We watched the opening to the film first with the music from the film 'Superman'. This implied that the film was in the comedy or fantasy genre. It was similar to the music of Disney films. We then watched the opening again, but this time with the music from 'Gone With The Wind'. This gave the movie a completely different feel. The movie then began to feel like a romance. Finally we watched the original opening of 'Rain Man' in which the music used was 'IKO IKO' by Belle Stars. Although the music was unconventional, i thought it worked well. The music was foreboding, and reflected the main characters life at that moment in time. The unconventionallity also reflected the state of his brother as he is autistic.
